This one is the smallest of the Velanis. I originally used it to smoke the last one or two remaining aromatics that I still smoked when I bought it. I quit the aromatics long ago, and went through a long time of trying to turn this into a latakia pipe. Eventually I learned that this little Italian pipe preferred Perique. I now use it for any blend with Perique, light, heavy, it doesn't matter. It likes them all. In case you're wondering what's so octagonal about it anyway, it's the shank and stem. It's hard to tell in the picture.
