Zoë was born at 5:30 PM, March 2, 1999. She weighed 9 lbs, 15 ounces and
was 21 ½ inches long. This is her web page so family and friends can see
pictures and read updates about her. I keep having to guess at her eye color. Sometimes it seems brown, sometimes green, sometimes a sort of two-tone brownish-green fading out to blue.
This is the only ultrasound picture the doctor gave us. It is a shot of the
top her head at about 16 weeks.
March 3, the day after her birth, still in the hospital. (Her birthday was kind of busy--I barely managed to get some videotape of her, but no still pix. If someone did get a picture of her on that day, please feel free to let me scan it).
March 16, at 14 days. Notice the "missing" left arm. It was held in a sling beneath her clothes because of the difficulty at birth that resulted in a broken left arm and right collarbone. She never has liked sleeping on her back and during her first several weeks would only sleep peacefully if in a reclined position. She slept in her little chair most of the time.
March 25, at 23 days. Once again in her favorite chair, enjoying a free left arm for the first time. It's amazing how fast a baby's bones can knit together.
This is one of my favorite pictures. I had her feet in my hands to help keep them warm. She seemed to prefer that to wearing socks.
